Congratulations- they look very interesting. Traditional toy soldiers were the beginning and still the bulk of my hobby. If you like this style toy soldier- which look a lot like the american "dimestore" style, there are some molds available to make your own here miniaturemolds.com A man on ebay also casts and paints his own and sells them, i believe he uses engine paints- the effect is simple but pretty appealing. Search under barclay or dimestore to get an idea about them. Good luck- hope you enjoy them- cant say ive ever seen ones like them before. -M |

mdriscoll, I have the site bookmarked! I've actually purchased a Lee Production Pot and some metal from them. I'd like to order a few of their WWII Steel molds, a metal thermometer and a 'riser' for my LPP. I currently have some Prince August Knights molds. They're nice molds and I can produce some decent castings. But, I think I'd like to start casting 'dimestore' style figs like those that I could produce from the WWII steel molds. |
