A while back I asked for options for 20' containers suitable for 28mm: TMP link Thanks to your suggestions, I have decided on the Rackham ones. link However, I would like to know if these are available from a US distributor? Thanks. CC |

Neil at The War Store carries everything AT-43, as does Fantization. |

I noticed that these are the US ones showing in the Manufacturer Index: TMP link However, I could not find them on Brookhurst's site, the Hobby Workshop link takes you to a website Poker "tar pit", and New Wave is not well recommended by TMP members. Are there in a different category at the War Store site? I can't find them, even with a site search: link I can't see them at Fantization either: link Any other leads? CC |

Here's the link to Fantization's AT-43 online store. The containers are under 'Starter Set & Accessories' at the next-to-last item near the bottom of the page: link And here's the link to the Warstore's AT-43 online store: thewarstore.com/AT43.html It's about 1/3 the way down. It's much cheaper at the Warstore. |

Wow! My Rackham intermodal containers from Dungeon Trader are already in the mail!!! Priority Mail no less. Thanks! CC |

I know that intermodal containers are not going to be as nice as these beauties . . . link TMP link . . . but, I think/hope, they will suit my purposes for now. CC |

I'm sorely tempted. The dimensions given on the other topic means I can convert these into landing pods for a 10 man squad and fit 5 models to either side with just under a 1" aisle. |

At some point in the (I hope) near future, I plan to get a bunch of these: link link CC |

I went with a 20' intermodal type because, I imagined, it would provide me more flexibility on the gaming table. What do you guys think? link CC |

If you haven't seen the size of these things – they are VERY LARGE and act more as line of sight blocking terrain. A model will easily fit inside these things. The other cargo containers I doubt are as large. The AT-43 containers are very cool, but they are also very big. |

To complete the fortification of the post-apocalyptic survivors' encampment, I'm about to finally place an order for these MBA Jersey barriers (hopefully this week): link TMP link Much appreciated. CC |

lol, we really should stop doing this :) I've started collecting the same containers to do a shipping yard/survivor encampment board area. I have a couple in front of me and they are pretty big (which is a damn good thing!) Even with bases on the figs fit inside these. They are the best and cheapest containers I've found. |

FYI
there are actually TWO AT-43 container sets. Contents are the same except the colors are different on the containters (light grey, dark grey, medium blue and orange – can't remember which two pair up in each set). Plus wall sections, nanogenerators and the terrain map. If you order from TheWarStore and buy two (or more) you can let him know you want one of each (or an equal mix of the two) and he will accomodate you, so you don't end up with all of one type, and none of the other. I think the containers are great all-around terrain for a number of different games. And for those who didn't know, the doors on one end do open up (double-doors are hinged), so you can put stuff inside them if you are so inclined. |

I plan to have them half buried, facing each other with an open space in between. Each container will have sandbags along the top, for sentries and defense. The barriers are going to cover the other two sides of the enclosure. What do you guys think of my plan? CC |

CC, Using the containers as a barrier is an excellent idea, and accurate as well. In parts of the world where they have shipping containers in excess (like islands in the middle of the Pacific Ocean), they use them for everything: spare rooms, offices, walls for compounds, etc. If you'd like pictures of containers in various states (converted to living quarters, used as barricades, rusting away), let me know (asking The Editor to forward an e-mail to me is probably the best option) and I can send oodles of photos your way (or post them online some place). |

They've also been used as offices, Hi-tech modern living spaces, and our military uses them for multiple tasks including barracks

Please do!!! I am very interested in current usages, as it will hint to future ones. I was looking for 20 foot containers (like the Rackham ones). However, if anyone needs the longer ones, here are a few possible options in O-Scale: auction CC |
