I just got back from dropping my two students off after getting back from the School of the Musketeer and we all had a very good time. home.att.net/~trmarr
We learned to shoot matchlock muskets, cannons and march with pikes and practiced some formations as well. We also had some excellent food while were out there and watched an excellent presentation on 17th and 16th century fortifications and siege techniques. Everyone learned quite a bit and had a very good time. If you live within driving distance to philly you should keep this in mind for next year. |

So, are the arms burning yet? I know my first musket drill of the season tells me I've been bench-pressing paint brushes, not weights all winter. It's a good kind of burn, though. |

My arms are burning, but not that way. My arms, neck and face are all sun burned. My right shoulder and back are sore, but I think that is from sleeping on the hard floor. |

Well, at least it is not powder burns. Or maybe they are there under the sunburn. Tomorrow will tell more tales of muscle abuse. Almost too sunny and warm for a spring exercise today! Thanks for the link to the site. |

And thank you for the great review. BTW, I think one of your students left his washcloth hanging on the railing. Does he want it back? |

I had a match burn, but no powder burns. Today I feel better for having not slept on the floor. I work out pretty regularly so the wight of the musket really wasn't much and we only did about 2 single-hour long drills with them. I enjoyed marching around with the pikes more, that was a lot of fun. |

And of course, he brought and played a game (Warmaster ECW) after hours, and got a student convert to gaming in the process. Fair enough. |
